Cabinet: US Military Experts to Provide Training in Slovakia
Bratislava, May 23 (TASR) – A team of American military experts will come to Slovakia in the summer in order to provide training and consultation to the Slovak Armed Forces, with the Cabinet approving a proposal to this effect on Wednesday.
The objective of the Civil Affairs team’s presence in Slovakia is to increase mutual interoperability as well as develop military capabilities within the Slovak Armed Forces, stated Defence Minister Peter Gajdos (Slovak National Party). The team will feature a maximum of four members of the US Armed Forces and a maximum of two pieces of military equipment.
The Civil Affairs team will be based in Martin (Zilina region) as of July 1 for a period of 18 months. All of the costs related to the presence of the team in Slovakia will be paid by the USA.
