Criminal Complaint Filed against Far-right LSNS Legislator Uhrik

Bratislava, March 27 (TASR) – The police will examine statements made by MP Milan Uhrik (People’s Party Our Slovakia/LSNS) on RTVS’s programme ‘O 5 Minut 12’ (Five Minutes to Twelve) on Sunday (March 26). MPs Ondrej Dostal (Freedom and Solidarity/SaS) and Viera Dubacova (Independent), extraparliamentary OKS (Civic Conservative Party) vice-chair Juraj Petrovic and Bratislava city councillor Lucia Stasselova filed a criminal complaint against Uhrik in connection to his statements on “protecting white children”.

“We’ve filed a criminal complaint because we suspect he might have committed the crime of establishing, supporting and promoting a movement aimed at suppressing fundamental rights and freedoms, or expressing sympathy for a movement aimed at suppressing fundamental rights and freedoms,” said Dostal.

Dostal pointed to a statement where Uhrik advocates the need to protect the future of white children. Dostal and other submitters of the motion drew attention to the racist background of this idea and its connection to neo-Nazism.
