Newly Elected MP for Kotleba's Party in Court over Bodily Harm Charge

Namestovo, March 10 (TASR) – Newly elected MP Andrej M. [full surname withheld for legal reasons – ed. note], who represents the far-right Kotleba-People’s Party Our Slovakia (LSNS), appeared alongside his brother Jozef in Namestovo (Zilina region) District Court on Thursday.

The MP is accused of inflicting bodily harm on the grounds of racial hatred. According to the prosecution, he attacked a citizen of the Dominican Republic in November 2011.

The accused ran in Saturday’s general election as number 9 on the LSNS party slate. He’s also chairman of the party structure in Zilina region. He received a total of 4,832 preferential votes in the election.
