Musical Tram to Operate in Bratislava in Summer

Bratislava, June 30 (TASR) – A ‘musical tram’ will be operating in Slovakia’s capital this summer, running free of charge each Saturday in July and August, Bratislava mayor Ivo Nesrovnal and Bratislava City Transport Company (DPB) director Milan Urban announced at a press conference on Friday.

The tram will set off for the first time on July 1 from the Slovak National Theatre tram stop. It will then start each Saturday in summer from this location, before taking passengers on a sightseeing tour around Bratislava.

“We tried the project last year, and there was huge interest. The tram was very popular both with people from Bratislava and its visitors. So we told ourselves to repeat this successful project,” said Nesrovnal.

The tours will take around 35-40 minutes, with the musical tram leaving the SND stop at 5, 6, 7 and 8 p.m. While music will ordinarily be played through loudspeakers, the first and last Saturdays of July and August will feature special live music bands.
