Bratislava, January 20 (TASR) – The Foreign and European Affairs Ministry voiced its determination to continue the further development of mutual ties with USA as well as to bolster the Trans-Atlantic partnership necessary to maintain stability, security and democracy in broader Euro-Atlantic context, TASR was told by ministry press department on the occasion of Friday’s inauguration of 45th US President Donald Trump.
“We congratulate the incoming President and wish him a lot of strength and successes in exercising his challenging mandate,” said the ministry.
The ministry underlined that the United States are a strategic partner and one of the closest allies to Slovakia, with the successful cooperation taking place in many spheres – from modernisation of the Slovak Armed Forces, support of stability in crisis-prone parts of the world up to economic and business cooperation.
The most crucial component of bilingual ties is the shared NATO membership. “We’d like to continue our close cooperation in maintaining its credibility and combat-readiness, which we view as the main guarantee of Slovakia’s security,” reads the text.
