Last Two Injured from Bus Crush in Serbia Fly Home

Bratislava, June 27 (TASR) – A special government A319-115 CJ aircraft landed at Bratislava airport and brought the last two injured people – hospitalised in Serbia after the bus crash last week –  back to Slovakia late Monday.

Head of the Interior Ministry Office’s press department Ivan Netik told TASR earlier in the day that a more seriously injured patient should be hospitalised in Ruzinov Hospital and a patient with lesser injuries should go to Saint Michael’s Hospital in Bratislava.

“Their health condition has enabled them to be transported,” said Netik. The aircraft also brought the corpses of three Slovak victims.

Five vacationers died and many people were injured in last week’s (June 21) bus crash near the town of Nish, Serbia. Most of them were flown home by another government aircraft the same day.

The reasons of the accident are still being investigated. However, according to media information, the driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel; or there could have been mechanical problems with the bus.
