President: Slovakia Should Have Representative in Marrakech

Bratislava, November 30 (TASR) – Slovak President Andrej Kiska on Friday stated that Slovakia should send a representative to the Marrakech conference on the UN Global Migration Compact in December to present the Parliament’s and Government’s opinions, according to Kiska’s spokesman Roman Krpelan.

“It should be the same as with any noted international event, such as NATO and EU summits,” said Krpelan.

Meanwhile, the president is also concerned about what his spokesman called a “Government crisis” following Foreign & EU Minister Miroslav Lajcak’s resignation (over Parliament’s rejection of the migration compact on Thursday) and its possible adverse effects on Slovakia’s foreign political orientation.
