Bratislava, June 8 (TASR) – The News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR) is launching a new feature of its news service called ‘Kalendarium’, a web application that displays scheduled events in a user-friendly interface.
“The ‘Kalendarium’ is a smart tool for journalists, editors, editors in chief, press departments and the commercial sector. It’s a web application, while we’re working on a mobile version as well. The European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) award, which we received last year, represents a challenge for TASR to continue in innovations. We want to serve as a useful agency for customers and the public,” said TASR general director Vladimir Puchala.
The app allows for the creation of personalised previews of scheduled events with the use of various filters.
“The ‘Kalendarium’ will include information on expected events classified according to individual regions. The app will allow creating daily, weekly and monthly previews. Customers will be able to arrange events also with regard to individual sectors – politics, economy, culture etc. In addition, customers will learn on the same day or even some time earlier how TASR will cover the event,” said TASR editor-in-chief Marian Kolar, adding that TASR will insert information on individual events as they come from organisers.
It will be possible to generate lists of events in charts that can further be printed or transferred into different systems for editing.
The ‘Kalendarium’ will be accessible via the www.tasr.sk website and also via the Customer Zone under the button ‘Prehlady’.
