Danko: SNS Successful in Regional Elections

Bratislava, November 5 (TASR) – The Slovak National Party (SNS) considers its results in the regional elections on Saturday as success, Parliamentary Chairman and party chief Andrej Danko said on Sunday, pointing out that SNS has gained more councillors than in 2013.

“Considering where SNS was in the past and where it is now, we view it as success that SNS didn’t flop,” said Danko at a press conference.

SNS also placed its own candidates for governors, but none of them was elected, with Danko stressing that that these battles weren’t easy.

“Nevertheless, they were fighting with honour,” said Danko.

The SNS chairman described the elections as a test for the party’s regional structures, which were to decide on possible coalition agreements.

Even though Danko considers the elections as successful, he added that SNS should also analyse some unsuccessful elements of the vote.
