Extraordinary Committee to Sit over Trnka-Marian K. Recording

Bratislava, October 15 (TASR) – An extraordinary meeting of the parliamentary defence and security committee will be convened in reaction to the recorded conversation between entrepreneur Marian K. and former prosecutor-general Dobroslav Trnka, TASR learnt on Tuesday.

Opposition MPs drew up and submitted the proposal for the meeting at the committee session on Tuesday.

Members of the committee approved the proposal, and its chairman Anton Hrnko (Slovak National Party/SNS) announced that they would also agree on a date for the meeting with Interior Minister Denisa Sakova (Smer-SD) so that she can participate.

According to Independent MP Lubomir Galko, information in the media indicates that the police may have had the recording for quite a long time. The opposition wants both the interior minister and Police Corps President Milan Lucansky to explain the situation. “We don’t want to be political about it; it can be a closed-door session,” added Galko.
