Premier Wants at Interior Ministry Person Already Able to Manage It
Bratislava, April 23 (TASR) – Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) still hasn’t said whom he will propose for the post of interior minister, TASR learnt on Monday.

But the premier prefers a person who will be able to manage the ministry from the first day and won’t need time to get acquainted with the new environment. The nomination will be decided by the Smer-SD party presidium. Incumbent Interior Ministry State Secretary Denisa Sakova is being mentioned most frequently as the new interior minister.
“After the unsuccessful experiment with an external crisis manager [Tomas Drucker], I prefer a person who can immediately manage the ministry from the first day,” the prime minister told a press conference at the Government Office on Monday.
When Smer-SD party presidium decides on the nomination, Pellegrini will ask President Andrej Kiska for a date when he can introduce to him the new minister. According to the prime minister, there shouldn’t be any obstacle to appoint the candidate to the post. “Because, according to the Constitution, the president should appoint the minister I present to him,” he added.
