Poll: Kiska Most-trusted Politician; Followed by Fico and Danko
Bratislava, February 5 (TASR) – President Andrej Kiska is viewed as the most trustworthy politician in Slovakia, enjoying the trust of 23.4 percent of respondents to a poll carried out by Focus agency, TASR learnt on Monday.
Prime Minister Robert Fico of the governing Smer-SD party was runner-up on the list of most trustworthy politicians on 23 percent, followed by Parliamentary Chairman Andrej Danko of the coalition Slovak National Party (SNS) on 14.3 percent.
The top three most trustworthy politicians were followed by Opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party head Richard Sulik (12.1 percent), Opposition We Are Family party leader Boris Kollar (10.9 percent), coalition Most-Hid party head Bela Bugar (10.1 percent), Opposition OLaNO party head Igor Matovic (10.1 percent), Interior Minister Robert Kalinak of Smer-SD (9.2 percent), Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak (8.6 percent), OLaNO MP Veronika Remisova (7.5 percent) and Marian Kotleba of the far-right LSNS party (6.4 percent).
Other politicians were deemed trustworthy by less than 5 percent of the respondents.
The Focus survey was carried out between January 23-28 on a sample of 1,012 respondents. The poll also showed that 20.3 percent of the respondents didn’t trust anyone, while 7.8 percent didn’t know how to answer the question.
