Slovak Firms Attend Global Exhibition of Food Industry Innovations

Paris, October 21 (TASR-correspondent) – More than 7,000 exhibitors from more than 100 countries, including several producers from Slovakia, are taking part in one of the most prestigious food fairs in the world – SIAL in Paris, which opened its doors in the French capital on Sunday.

The Slovak Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry has organised a business mission on this occasion, which includes representatives of several Slovak companies, especially smaller ones. These firms, according to head of the ministry Gabriela Matecna (Slovak National Party/SNS), are seeking inspiration and seeing if they can be successful even in particularly tough competition.

“The SIAL Paris Fair is a show of the most modern elements that have originated in the global food industry over the past two years. I’m proud of the fact that Slovak products are among the top innovations at the fair, which is proof that our food is world class and able to compete with top foreign products,” said Matecna.

Slovak company Divas drink International scored well in a vitamin beverage competition, McCarter with its vegetable milk and Maxsport with its protein spread, raw sticks and protein chips. These companies were ranked among the top innovators and will take away the prestigious SIAL Innovation Selection title from the fair.
