Slovakia to Be Represented at NATO's Military Medicine Centre
Bratislava, September 8 (TASR) – Slovakia will send one soldier to the NATO Centre for Excellence of Military Medicine in Budapest (MilMED COE), according to an update of Slovakia’s military representation in NATO and EU bodies and military structures okayed by Parliament on Thursday.
“The Slovak army is participating in MilMED COE in order to develop the abilities of military medicine within international cooperation between NATO-member states and to apply the principle of reciprocity concerning a post occupied by the Hungarian side at the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (EOD COE) [in Slovakia],” states the Defence Ministry in its report.
Expenditures related to the Slovak soldier at MilMED COE will be covered from the Defence Ministry’s budget.
MilMED COE was founded in October 2009 as an international military organisation.
A total of 79 Slovak soldiers are operating within NATO and EU structures at the moment.
