Kuzmina after Winning Another Silver at PyeongChang: It's Amazing

PyeongChang, February 15 (TASR) – Slovak biathlete Anastasiya Kuzmina has won a second silver medal at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

The Russian-born biathlete succeeded in the women’s 15 kilometre individual competition. Slovak success in the biathlon at the Alpensia Biathlon Centre was emphasised by Slovak Paulina Fialkova, who placed 5th. The Olympic gold medal winner of the event was Hanna Oeberg from Sweden. Kuzmina, who also ended up second place in the pursuit earlier in the week, lagged behind by 24.7 seconds, and German Laura Dahlmeier with the bronze medal was behind by 41.2 seconds.
Kuzmina has now extended her collection of Olympic medals to five [two gold medals and three silver – ed. note].
“This race is about shooting. I’m happy about the progress I’ve made here, and even when it’s with a medal, it’s amazing. I calmed internally after the sprint. I realised that if it’s not about life, it’s actually about nothing,” she said at the finish.
“Wow,” President Andrej Kiska wrote on his Facebook profile, “this is another great day for the Slovak biathlon. Anastasiya Kuzmina really showed a top-class performance, while this isn’t even her favourite event. And our amazing Paulina Fialkova has confirmed her great talent today. It’s our medal hope for the future. Girls, you put everything into it. Thank you for doing such fantastic promotion for our country.”
