Vlhova Triumphs Third Time in Giant Slalom

Spindleruv Mlyn, March 8 (TASR) – Slovak alpine skier Petra Vlhova won World Cup giant slalom in Spindleruv Mlyn, the Czech Republic on Friday defeating Viktoria Rebensburg of Germany and Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States of America, TASR learnt on the same day.

The 23-year-old Vlhova enjoys her third triumph in giant slalom, ninth victory in the World Cup races and the fifth one this winter.

Vlhova triumphed in the race with a lead of 0.11 seconds over Rebensburg and beat Shiffrin by 0.60 seconds. The champion showed a fantastic ride especially in the first round. Despite a big mistake, she managed to gain a sufficient lead.
