Stats Office: Average Salary Up in Most Sectors in September 2017
Bratislava, November 10 (TASR) – The average nominal monthly salary posted the highest annual rise in September in retail – by 7.2 percent to €674, the Slovak Statistics Office announced on Friday.
Other nominal salary increases were: in restaurants and pubs – by 6.9 percent to €432, in transport and warehousing – 6.8 percent to €912, in the sale and maintenance of motor vehicles – 6.6 percent to €958, in industry – 4.4 percent €1,017, in accommodation – 4 percent to €705, in selected market services – 3.1 percent to €890, in the construction sector – 2.6 percent to €669, and in wholesale – 2.5 percent to €892.
Conversely, a drop was posted in information and communications activities – by 2.8 percent to €1,621.
Meanwhile, average real monthly salaries were up on the year in September in retail – by 5.6, in restaurants and pubs – 5.3 percent, in transport and warehousing – 5.1 percent, in sales and repairs of motor vehicles – 5 percent, in industry – 2.8 percent, in accommodation – 2.4 percent, in selected market services – 1.5 percent, in construction – 1 percent and in wholesale – 0.9 percent.
Real salaries only dropped in information and communications activities – by 4.3 percent.
