Stats Office: Nominal Salary in Industry Up 4.4% Y-o-Y to €1,033 in March
Bratislava, May 12 (TASR) – The average nominal monthly salary posted the highest annual rise in March in restaurants and pubs, increasing by 9.2 percent to €426, TASR learnt from figures that the Stats Office released on Friday.
Other year-on-year increases in nominal salaries were in retail – by 6.3 percent to €658, in wholesale – 6 percent to €919, in the sale and repair of motor vehicles – 5.4 percent to €983, in construction – 5 percent to €648, in transport and warehousing – 4.7 percent to €888, in industry – 4.4 percent to €1,033, and in selected market services – 1.2 percent to €899.
Conversely, annual falls were recorded in information and communication activities (by 9 percent to €1,823), and in accommodation (by 4.1 percent to €648).
Meanwhile, the average real monthly salaries were up on the year in March in restaurants and pubs – by 8.2 percent, in retail – 5.3 percent, in wholesale – 5 percent, in the sale and repair of motor vehicles – 4.4 percent, in construction – 4 percent, in transport and warehousing – 3.7 percent, industry – 3.4 percent, and in selected market services – 0.2 percent.
Real salaries dropped in information and communication technologies – by 9.9 percent and in accommodation – 5.1 percent.
