Government Aircraft Brings 100,000 FFP3 Respirators to Slovakia
Bratislava, March 25 (TASR) – Slovakia received 100,000 FFP3 respirators on Wednesday, Prime Minister Igor Matovic (OLaNO) told a news conference on the same day, adding that the government plane brought them from Turkey.
The masks are designed for nurses and doctors who are fighting novel coronavirus in the frontline.
Interior Minister Roman Mikulec (OLaNO) said that they should have originally been carried by a private company, but problems with customs clearance occurred. “Finally, we decided on Tuesday (March 24) to send the Interior Ministry’s aircraft, which carried the supplies here on Wednesday morning,” he said.
According to Matovic, the respirators will be immediately distributed from the central warehouse in Slovenska Lupca (Banska Bystrica region). “They’ll get to medical staff all over Slovakia in the next few hours,” he added.
