Insurers: Total Damage Caused by Wednesday Downpour Exceed €500,000

Bratislava, June 8 (TASR) – Heavy rains that pummelled the Slovak capital city and towns in western Slovakia on Wednesday (June 6) caused property damage to myriad clients of Kooperativa insurer, with reported damage figures north of €234,000, TASR learnt on Friday.
Most cases concern damaged cars and flooded garages and cellars. “The greatest number of cases are in Bratislava and Dunajska Streda (Trnava region),” said Silvia Noskova Illasova, the PR manager of Kooperativa.
According to spokesman of Komunalna Poistovna insurer, 15 weather-related cases have been recorded with reported damage of €63,000. “We expect the number of reported insurance cases to swell later, seeing as many people were busy with addressing the aftermath of rains and haven’t had time yet to report cases to the insurance company,” said spokesman Dalibor Mihalkin.
Clients of UNIQA insurer have already filed more than hundred reports with the preliminary total claim of €265,000.
