No Slovaks Aboard Hijacked Plane in Egypt
Bratislava, March 29 (TASR) – It appears that no Slovaks were on board the aircraft that was hijacked in Egypt on Tuesday, head of the Foreign and European Affairs Ministry’s press department Juraj Tomaga told TASR on the same day.
The ministry continues to monitor the situation.
EgyptAir flight 181 with 81 passengers on board was on its way from Alexandria to Cairo. The hijackers, one of whom claimed to be wearing an explosive suicide belt, forced the plane to land at the international airport in Larnaka, Cyprus.
According to the latest information, the hijackers have released all the passengers apart from four foreigners. The crew is also being held.
