Thirty Candidates Run for Post of Constitutional Judge

Bratislava, March 5 (TASR) – A total of 30 candidates are running for the post of constitutional judge in the new election, with several of them also applying for the position in the previous vote, in which Parliament did not elect any candidate, TASR learnt on Tuesday.


The list of the candidates is as follows: Pavol Boron, Martin Javorcek, Michal Matulnik, Vlastimil Pavlikovsky, Edita Pfundtner, Peter Straka, Anton Dulak, Eva Kovacechova, Katarina Cechova, Eva Fulcova, Rastislav Kassak, Peter Melicher, Stanislav Irsak, Michal Duris, Ivan Fiacan, Stefan Ksenak, Pavol Malich, Radoslav Prochazka, Milos Madar, Lubos Szigeti, Marek Tomasovic, Michal Truban, Libor Dula, Radovan Hradek, Daniela Svecova, Ladislav Dudits, Peter Molnar, Robert Sorl, Martin Vernarsky and Zuzana Pitonakova.

The deadline for submitting bids expired on Tuesday (March 5) at 4 p.m., with candidates subsequently to undergo hearings by the Constitutional Committee in Parliament between March 21-23. Candidates will be elected at a parliamentary meeting that starts on March 26.
