Ravasz: Most-Hid Will Support Glvac's Ouster

Junior governing party Most-Hid will vote for the dismissal of Parliamentary Vice-chair Martin Glvac (Smer-SD), said Most-Hid Vice-chair Abel Ravasz on TV Markiza’s politics show ‘Na telo’ (‘Tough Questions’) on Sunday, adding that if he can’t do it by himself, they can help him in the next round.

However, he thinks that all those who met entrepreneur Marian K., who is facing charges of ordering journalist Jan Kuciak’s murder, should assume personal responsibility for this.

“Most-Hid is undertaking snake manoeuvres,” MEP Lucia Duris Nicholsonova (Freedom and Solidarity/SaS) commented on Ravasz’s statements. She expressed doubts that Most-Hid was indeed in favour of Glvac’s ouster. Nicholsonova also fails to understand why chairman of the coalition party Bela Bugar (Most-Hid) told reporters “several versions” about meeting Marian K. during a holiday in the Maldives. At the same time, she admitted that she did not think that chairman of the opposition SaS Richard Sulik had sufficiently explained to his voters the meeting with Marian K.

Ravasz also stated that Most-Hid won’t join a government with Smer-SD after the next year’s parliamentary election unless it sees that significant changes have been made in the strongest political party. He also assumes that there is little chance of the Hungarian parties going into the election on a single slate. The Most-Hid vice-chair admitted, however, that their party is holding talks with Tomas Drucker’s Good Choice party about pre-election co-operation as well as a common slate.

Duris Nicholsonova said that she could imagine talks with several people who left SaS, such as Jana Kissova and Natalia Blahova (both non-affiliated). She also confirmed she doesn’t intend to run for the post of SaS chair.
