Sakova Will Appoint Lucansky as Police Corps President on Monday

I will appoint Milan Lucansky to the post of Police Corps president on Monday (April 15), Interior Minister Denisa Sakova (Smer-SD) stated on TA3’s discussion programme ‘V politike’ (In Politics) on Sunday, adding that she decided to do so after a personal meeting with both candidates, who were selected by the parliamentary defence and security committee.

“This is a firm decision. I can say that the main reason was the result of the vote because seven members of the defence and security committee voted in favour of General Lucansky, that is, also an opposition MP. On the contrary, no one was against his appointment to the post,” said Sakova. According to her, six MPs from the committee voted for police attache in Prague Ivan Sevcik and two were against.

Sakova met both candidates on Friday (April 12). She stated that she discussed with them their views on the strategy and development of the Police Corps.
