Student Agency to Increase Price Tickets to Some Slovak Destinations

Prague, March 4 (TASR) – Although the prices of diesel in the Czech Republic dropped by almost a quarter over the past year, the biggest Czech commercial bus transport operator Student Agency will charge more money for some of the tickets to Slovakia, TASR learnt on Friday.

According to the latest price list, of 20 Slovak cities that Student Agency travels to, 12 will be charged higher prices as of April 1. It’s an increase of between 37-74 cents on average. Prices of tickets on the lines from Prague to Bratislava, Trencin, Zilina and Kosice will remain unchanged.

The company ascribes this increase to a slight revision of tariffs induced by higher costs of personnel, renovation of our vehicle stock and services, which overweigh the drops in prices of diesel.

Cheap diesel plays to the benefit of the transport operators. When prices of diesel go up, the prices of tickets go up; but when prices of diesel go down it doesn’t necessarily entail a drop in prices of tickets.
