Teenager in Hul Killed by Wall Toppled in Windstorm

Hul, September 15 (TASR) – A 17-year-old youth was killed by a wall that was torn down by strong winds in the village of Hul (Nitra region) early on Thursday evening, Nitra regional police spokesperson Renata Cuhakova told TASR on Friday.
The accident took place on the construction site of a waste collection area. “The young man went to relieve himself on the unsecured construction site of a waste collection courtyard. As he stood by a wall made from Ytong tiles, the five-metre-long and three-metre-tall wall began swaying in the strong wind and collapsed on him. Friends standing nearby tried to pull him from the debris and resuscitate him. Meanwhile, they called the emergency hotline,” said Cuhakova.
One of the friends pressed on the young man’s chest, but upon seeing blood running from his mouth and nose, he stopped trying to resuscitate him. The teenager had already died when the paramedics arrived.
