Traffic Accident Occurs During Transfer of US Military Convoy in Slovakia

Bratislava, July 27 (TASR) – A traffic accident occurred during the transfer of a US military convoy for the Saber Guardian 2017 exercises near Giraltovce (Presov region) on Wednesday evening, Defence Ministry spokesperson Danka Capakova told TASR on Thursday.

“The US vehicle veered off the road after attempting to avoid a Turkish lorry going in the opposite direction,” said Capakova.

Nobody was injured in the accident.

The American convoy, accompanied by the Slovak Military Police, was heading to the Vysny Komarnik border crossing where it eventually entered Poland.

The traffic accident is being investigated by the Slovak police.
