Windstorm Cuts Off Three Villages in Eastern Slovakia

Kosice/Presov, February 4 (TASR) – Fallen trees on roads due to strong winds and snowfall left the villages of Ruska Bystra, Rusky Hrabovec and Podhorod (all Kosice region) cut off from the rest of the world on Sunday.
“Fourteen professional firefighters from the Fire Brigade in Humenne (Presov region) and from fire stations in Michalovce and Sobrance, and 13 volunteer firefighters from the villages of Konus, Koromla and Horna are on the scene to deal with the effects of the storm,” said Fire and Rescue Corps Presidium spokesperson Zuzana Farkasova.
In total, firefighters had to deal with fallen trees at 15 locations in Kosice region and at 14 locations in Presov region.
